Jennifer Avers

Social Benefit Advisor & Wellness Facilitator

Jennifer Avers is a Social Impact Advisor and Wellness Facilitator.

Working with nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years, Jennifer’s passion is actualizing people and organizations for positive social impact. Jennifer has an MS in Public Service Management and designs and implements organizational development processes for her clients. This includes strategic planning, evaluation, grants management, board and staff development, research and needs assessment, and program and service design. (See Jennifer’s website

In 2015, eager to address some personal anxiety, she immersed herself in the fields of self-discovery, emotional intelligence, meditation and mindfulness.  Informed by research and resources, including Jon Kabat-Zinn, Daniel Goleman, Jack Kornfield, Krista Tippett, and Chade-Meng Tan, among others, Jennifer began practicing meditation and Reiki (certified in Usui System) with local gurus and exploring a range of healing modes for personal and organizational health.

Keen to integrate best practices in mind-body connectedness, Jennifer began offering wellness practices to receptive nonprofit clients and also launched a series of family meditation classes in her local community. Encouraged by her observations and participant feedback, Jennifer developed children’s wellness sessions for HomeBase. Jennifer’s sessions are a mix of resource sharing, individual and group reflection, and wellness practice. Wellness practice includes self-awareness techniques, movement, artistic expression, sound healing, guided meditation, and structuring space for participant rest, relaxation and insight.

Jennifer believes that everything is personal. As we bravely face our fears and manifest our dreams, taking care of ourselves is essential for effectively taking care of others (e.g., our family members, our coworkers, our community, and our world).
